The meter has a housing (11) with a fluid inlet (12) and a fluid outlet (14). Two magnets are arranged in the housing, and are supported in a rotatable manner. The two magnets are separated from each other by a separation wall and act together for the formation of a magnetic coupling. A magnet screening cover surrounds the magnets in a radial direction. A base (16) of the housing consists of a steel plate (18) made of a magnetically shielding material on a side of the wall, where fluid flows at the side of the wall, which is made of a metallic material or glass reinforced plastic material.
