<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording composition and an optical recording medium that facilitates recording with lower sensitivity, allows use of an inexpensive laser and reduces the writing time. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording composition contains at least a monomer having two or more ethyleneoxide repeating units in the molecule. A preferable embodiment of the monomer is represented by structural formula (1). In formula (1), X represents a carbonyl group or thiocarbonyl group; Y represents an alkyl group, aryl group, alkoxycarbonyl group, aryloxy carbonyl group, acyl group, alkylsulfonyl group, aryl sulfonyl group or carbamoyl group; Z represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Q represents -NR-, wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or alkyl group, an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom; and n represents an integer of 2 or larger. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
