PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt type fixing device which always controls the temperature of a fixing belt of a fixation part to specified temperature. SOLUTION: A CPU 64 controls heat generation of a halogen heat generating device 57 in a heat roller 51 so that its temperature becomes the set temperature corresponding to the detected temperature by referring to a correspondence table of detected temperature and set temperature previously stored in a ROM 65 to obtain set temperature corresponding to detected temperature while monitoring the temperature of the heat roller part detected by a second temperature sensor 56 all the times so that the temperature of the heat roller rises when the temperature of a pressure roller part detected by a first temperature sensor 55 is low and the temperature of the heat roller part becomes lower than the previous temperature as the temperature of the pressure roller part rises.
