384,256. Rotary compressors. SWISS LOCOMOTIVE & MACHINE WORKS, Winterthur, Switzerland. Oct. 3, 1932, No. 27390. Convention date, Oct. 1, 1931. [Class 110 (ii).] Means for sealing the working clearances in a rotary compressor with outwardlysliding vanes 2 comprise grooves 4, 5, in the end walls, and longitudinally in the casing where the rotor 3 is nearest the casing 1, respectively. These grooves are filled with oil or grease from a container 6 fed through passages 7, 8, 9 to the grooves. For a compressor the grooves pass on the delivery side of the shaft, Fig. 1, but for a vacuum pump the groove, or grooves, pass on the suction side of the shaft. A ring groove, connected to the grooves 4, may surround the shaft. |
