#CMT# #/CMT# The device has a single lifting spring (19) integrally mounted on a cross piece (20) fixed to a frame of a base (1). The cross piece is integrated to a seat structure through its ends (20a). The spring comprises a U-shaped part projected from the crosspiece (20) on a side of a floor of a vehicle. The part is prestressingly supported on the floor in a horizontal position of the base for exerting pivoting force on the base at vertical lifted position of the base. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Used in the automobile field for assisting the lifting of a rear seat of a motor vehicle to a jack-knife position (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The device permits the lifting of the seat without requiring large number of metallic parts, thus simplifying the lifting mechanism and permitting easy handling of the seat during the lifting operation. The reliability of the device is therefore improved. The reduction in the number of parts permits to reduce the manufacturing cost of the base, renders the base structure less aggressive, and prevents obstacle in the rising and descending of a person of the vehicle.
