PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a playback system to suitably reproduce video and audio signals from an optical disk. SOLUTION: In the playback system to reproduce a video title from an optical disk, the video title set attribute table is obtained by referring to the video manager information when reproducing, and the video title menu language unit is obtained based on matching between the language code specific to the reproduction device and the video title menu language code by referring to the video title set information, then the menu is reproduced from the video title.
