PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by making it possible to perform a plurality of operations by one operation part without switching a function. SOLUTION: The reproducing device is provided with an operation part to which various kinds of instructions are input, and a control part for controlling the reproducing state of reproducing data on the basis of instruction signals from the operation part. The operation part is an optical type detection part in which a plurality of ranges are set so as to correspond to the plurality of instructions respectively and which outputs the instruction signals based on the instructions made to correspond to the set part when the set part is covered. The various kinds of the instructions include a reproduction instruction for switching the reproducing state of the reproducing data, a reproducing speed change instruction and an inverse reproducing speed change instruction.
