<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having an intermediate transfer body, and first and second electrode members for imparting charge to an image conveying body such as a recording material carrier, and capable of applying appropriate voltage to the electrode members considering the mutual influence between the first and the second electrode members. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus equipped with a voltage decision means 10 deciding voltage applied to the first electrode member 54 on the basis of the result of detection by a first detection means 121 and voltage applied to the second electrode member 55a on the basis of the result of detection by a second detection means 111a, the voltage decision means 10 is constituted to decide the voltage applied to the second electrode member 55a by applying monitor voltage or monitor current while the second electrode member 55a is positioned in the area of the image conveying body 51 to which charge is imparted by the application of the decided voltage to the first electrode member 54. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
