PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection device constituted so that a user may not be troubled because of sudden battery shutoff. SOLUTION: A projector 10 checks the voltage of a battery 108 at every prescribed time. When the discharge state of the battery 108 shows a state where the residual capacity of the battery is small or a state where it is insufficient, a battery icon (battery information) showing the state of the battery 108 is superposed and composed on a projected image. When the residual capacity of the battery is insufficient, the battery icon is flickered. When the projection of slide show is instructed, projection feasible time R is estimated based on the detected voltage of the battery 108. When the required time for the projection of slide show is longer than the projection feasible time R, consumed current from the battery 108 is saved by 30% from In to Is. The projection feasible time Rs is estimated again based on the consumed current Is when saving the current. When the required time for the projection of the slide show is longer than the projection feasible time Rs, the projection time per frame is shortened from tn to ts, whereby the required time for the projection of the slide show is within the projection feasible time Rs.
