PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner, an image forming method and a process cartridge which has excellent developing property, causes no scattering and has excellent dot-reproducibility. SOLUTION: The toner is used for the image forming method in which the toner layer thickness on a toner carrier is regulated by a toner regulation blade and the development of an electrostatic latent image carrier is performed by the toner on the toner carrier, wherein the ratio of the area of contact area to the area of non-contact part when a part abutted to the toner carrier of the toner regulation blade is brought into contact with a glass plate at a surface pressure 14.4 Pa falls into the range of 8/92 to 70/30, and ten-point average roughness Rz measured by a laser microscope on the surface of a part abutted by the toner carrier of the toner regulation blade is≥5.0μm and≤25.0μm. Further, the toner comprises toner particles containing at least binder resin and magnetic material, and inorganic particles, and the average surface roughness of the toner particles measured by a scanning probe microscope is≥5.0 nm and≤60.0 nm.
