PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assist a driver in driving a vehicle by displaying a recommended route appropriately regardless of whether the direction of the vehicle is changed or not. SOLUTION: When a navigation controller 1 searches for a recommended route from the current position of one's own vehicle to a destination, the navigation controller 1 searches for two recommended routes a first recommended route L1, which is a route extending toward the front of the vehicle from the current position of one's own vehicle and a second recommended route L2 extending toward the rear of the vehicle from the current position of one's own vehicle. When the cost of the second recommended route L2 is lower than that of the first recommended route L1, a navigation image, in which both a route line indicating the first recommended route L1 and a route line indicating the second recommended route L2 are superimposed on a map image, is displayed on a display.
