<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller for an image forming apparatus which is incorporated and used in a copying machine or the like using electrophotographic or electrostatic recording technique, which stably obtains a surface suitable for the opening of a cell without requiring a troublesome step in order to maintain the surface property of a die in the manufacture of the roller on whose surface the cell is opened, by which excellent performance is obtained by making stable mold releasability compatible with the opening property of the cell, and a method for manufacturing the roller and a molding die for manufacturing the roller. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the roller for the image forming apparatus having a core bar and one or more polyurethane foam layers formed on the core bar, includes: a step for arranging the core bar and providing a coating film constituted by hardening liquid silicone rubber inside a die used by injecting material liquid of the polyurethane foam layer; and a step for foaming and molding the material liquid of the polyurethane foam layer in the metallic die.
