<p>The seat belt (19) for the driver or front-seat passenger in a vehicle (1) with a sliding door (7) has its two ends connected to a pillar (15) to the rear of the door and a bracket (29) with a hook adjacent to the front edge of the door to hold the tongue (27) of the seat belt buckle (21) when it is not in use.
