PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inclined-drum type washing machine with a function of heating washing water to a prescribed temperature. SOLUTION: A rotary drum 5 and a water tub 3 in which the rotary drum is stored are disposed inside a washing machine casing 2 in such a way that the shaft center R of rotation of the rotary drum 5 is inclined upward on the front side, and a water storage space is formed on the lowest part of the water tub 3 in such a way that the bottom is approximately horizontal. A drain 22 is opened at the lowest point on the bottom, and a heater 11 is stored approximately parallel to the bottom to form a washing water heating tub 10. An eddy current is generated inside the washing water heating tub 10 by the rotation of the rotary drum 5, so that the washing water with the detergent efficiently dissolved in water can be provided with the generated eddy current and heating. As the bottom of the washing water heating tub 10 and the heater 11 are approximately parallel to each other and are located at the lowest position of the water tub 3, the heater 11 is not exposed to air even with the agitation of the rotary drum 5.
