PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of uniformly supplying liquid fuel to fuel electrode side, without receiving effects from the pressure head of liquid fuel stored in a fuel tank. SOLUTION: The fuel cell comprises the liquid fuel tank 21 storing liquid fuel; a film-electrode assembly 16 composed of a fuel electrode, an air electrode, and an electrolyte film 15 interposed between the fuel electrode and the air electrode; a fuel flow passage 22, having a flow passage resistance not less than a prescribed value leading out the liquid fuel F from the liquid fuel tank 21; a fuel impregnation layer 24 impregnating the liquid fuel F lead out from the liquid fuel tank 21; and a gas-liquid separation film 26 transmitting gaseous component of the liquid fuel F supplied from the fuel impregnation layer 24, and leading it to fuel electrode side. Appropriate quantity of the liquid fuel F can be supplied uniformly to fuel electrode side, without receiving effects from the pressure head of the liquid fuel F stored in the liquid fuel tank 21.
