<p>A single-line angular radial roller bearing supports a machine tool fixed bearing (21). The roller bearing consists essentially of an inner ring (2) and an outer bearing ring (3) within the spindle housing (25). The two rings are separated by ball roller (9) races (7, 8) with edges defined by shoulders (4, 5, 6). The rollers are retained by a bearing cage (10). The outer bearing ring (3) is retained within the housing (26) solely by a lateral radial cross-piece (11) forming part of the outer mantle surface (12). The mantle surface (12) has a detent (13) covering the race (8). The dent has a ring (14) held under tension whose material has a higher coefficient of expansion than that of the outer ring (3).</p> |
