PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always properly take an image of the face of a vehicle driver by a camera even if a tilting mechanism of a steering column is actuated. SOLUTION: A camera assembly 12 for housing a face image taking camera 10 taking the image of the face of a vehicle driver is arranged on a column upper cover 20 of a steering column 18 in a manner that a camera image angle is adjusted toward the face of the vehicle driver according to the actuation of a tilting mechanism of the steering column 18, and positioned on a lead line passing through the center of a steering wheel 16. Thereby, when the tilting mechanism of the steering column 18 is actuated, the face image taking camera 10 can always and properly take the image of the face of the vehicle driver through an opening 16a formed at the surface of the steering wheel 16 in order that the vehicle driver visualizes a combination meter 24.
