PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a diamond like carbon (DLC) film on a polyethylene material having ultrahigh molecular weight, by coating the polyethylene material having ultrahigh molecular weight with the DLC film having adequate adhesiveness so as to prevent the peeling of the DLC film. SOLUTION: The method for forming the inorganic film comprises the steps of: modifying the polyethylene material having ultrahigh molecular weight with a plasma irradiation technique; and forming the DLC film on the surface-modified polyethylene material.
