PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain in what situations the present traveling condition is as compared with an ordinary condition. SOLUTION: The vehicle navigation system searches for a traveling route from a starting point (S) to a destination (D), and performs route guidance by displaying a traveling route R on a display. The vehicle navigation system stores traveling conditions in a traveling history database successively, extracts a past traveling history out of the traveling history database with a starting point, a departure time, and a destination as keys, and determines a traveling speed of the vehicle at a present time. Progress display lines P1 to P3 are displayed superimposed over the present position V of the vehicle on the display. The progress display lines P1 to P3 are fan-shaped curves having distances from the destination D, as a center, to traveling positions of traveling progresses including a maximum progress, an average progress, and a minimum progress as radii. When the traveling present position is beyond the progress display line P2 of the average progress toward the destination D, the traffic condition turns out to be favorable.
