An improved drive system for a lift cabin (K) has two rectangular drive support modules (1.1, 1.2) each with a pair of horizontal axles driven by a pair of motors and two pairs of friction wheels. The counterweight cable (Z) is attached to one frame which also connects to the top of the cabin via fastening means. The reaction force of the pendant mounting pulls the two frames together thus increasing the grip on the fixed vertical guide rails mounted on opposite sides of the lift shaft. |
