PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator capable of enhancing the safety of a worker thereof at each working place. SOLUTION: When an RFID tag 15 carried by a maintenance worker 14 is brought close to an RFID tag reader 17, the RFID tag reader 17 obtains information stored in the RFID tag 15, it is determined based on the information whether or not the reporting on the ascent/descent of a ladder by the maintenance worker 14, the reporting on the work in a pit, and the reporting on the work in a machine room are necessary. The control signal for instructing the reporting on the work determined necessary is output to a sound reproduction device 21 and a display device 22 via a transfer cable 23. The sound reproduction device 21 reproduces the sound to promote attention to the work by the kind instructed by the control signal from the RFID tag reader 17, and the display device 22 displays a message for display for promoting the attention to the work by the kind instructed by the control signal from the RFID tag reader 17.
