A telephone number information searching method using function numbers and a user terminal using the method are provided to differently set searching targets of telephone number information in accordance with ciphers of inputted searching information, thus a user can more efficiently search the telephone number information. A key input unit(130) inputs searching information which is one of numbers, symbols, and a combination of the numbers and the symbols. In case that the searching information has ciphers smaller than n(natural number), a searching performer(140) searches function numbers of telephone number information corresponding to the searching information. A display(135) displays particular information of the telephone number information corresponding to the searched results searched by the searching performer(140).
