摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tracking imaging apparatus capable of carrying out highly accurate panning drive and tilt drive at a high speed without sacrificing the stiffness of the apparatus. SOLUTION: A rotary mirror 121 executes inching of panning and tilt drive sections 104, 107, and an inching mechanism such as the rotary mirror 121 can set the drive sections 104, 107 to a prescribed imaging direction and a principal point position. That is, the inching mechanism obtains a principal point moving position and the imaging direction by referencing an inching rotation center position being a rotary center of the rotary mirror 121 and a rotary center position (rough rotation center position) of the panning or tilt drive section, and the position of the lens principal point (principal point position). The inching mechanism of the panning and tilt drive sections 104, 107 in this way is configured to apply rotation drive to part of an imaging system (e.g. the rotary mirror 121) unlike the configuration of applying rotation drive to whole the imaging system of prior arts. Thus, the moment of inertia is reduced, the high speed panning and tilt drive can be attained without sacrificing the stiffness of the apparatus and the design can also be facilitated.
