PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of shortening a data acquiring time by detecting an artifact in photographing when the artifact is caused in an image and automatically performing measurement again at the time of detection so as to acquire the image. SOLUTION: Echo data 1, 2, 3, ..., 256 are acquired in ascending order and arranged in the order of corresponding data spaces from a center (a low frequency region) to the 256-th data space. When the respective pieces of echo data are acquired, the data are arranged from the center of the data spaces so as to perform reconstitution processing. Whenever the processing is performed, presence of occurrence of the artifact is confirmed. When the artifact is caused at a time point 302, photographing is automatically stopped at the time point when the artifact generation is discovered. Then photographing is newly started. Consequently, the photographing time is shortened compared with that with a conventional technique by which data acquisition is restarted from the beginning after the whole data are acquired.
