PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information editing device in which a user can set an intended split point easily. SOLUTION: The information editing device comprises a means for reproducing audio/video information, a means for analyzing the audio/video information reproduced by the reproducing means and detecting the boundary point in that information, a means for designating chapter split in correspondence with operational input thereof during reproduction of the audio/video information by the reproducing means, and a means for correcting a chapter split point corresponding to the designation timing of chapter split based on the boundary point in the audio/video information detected before or after designation timing of chapter split by the chapter split designating means and setting the corrected chapter split point.
