<p>The present invention relates to an optical disc drive (10) and method for labelling an optical disc (11), wherein the optical disc (11) is adapted for getting labelled in a label area (26) of the optical disc (11) by application of a radiation beam (17) to the label area (26). In order to shorten the writing time for labelling an optical disc (11) and/or to reduce the power of the writing unit (16) during the labelling process, it is proposed that the optical disc drive (10) comprises a temperature determination unit (12) for determining the temperature of the optical disc (11). A heating unit (14) heats the optical disc (11) depending on the determined temperature of the optical disc (11). A writing unit (16) writes a label in the label area (26) of the optical disc (11) by applying the radiation beam (17) to the label area (26). A control unit (18) controls the power of the radiation beam (17) of the writing unit (16) and/or the rotational speed of the optical disc (11) depending on the temperature of the optical disc (11) for writing the label in the label area (26) of the optical disc (11).</p> |
