PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method and cleaning device for an engine which achieves high cleaning effect in a short period and materializes reduction of EGT, SFC and CO<SB>2</SB>without employing a chemical detergent. SOLUTION: After peeling off dirt by blowing steam of electrolytic alkali water onto an engine, hot water is blown to remove the dirt, thereby achieving high cleaning effect in an extremely short period.
