<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an irradiation apparatus for a fluid, which is used when an optical water treatment system for sterilizing and cleaning the water to be treated is adopted, is made compact and inexpensive since many treatment vessels occupying a wide installation space are not used and is applicable when a large quantity of the fluid in a pool, a large bathhouse or the like is treated. <P>SOLUTION: The irradiation apparatus A for the fluid is provided with: many light-transmissive PFA-made tubes 1; a pair of PTFE-made covering members 3, 4 arranged respectively at both ends of each of many tubes 1 for holding many tubes 1 arranged vertically, horizontally and in parallel; a light source supporting means K for arranging a light source 2 for irradiating many tubes 1 with ultraviolet light in parallel with many tubes 1. An internal connection line R for communicatively connecting pipelines 1A of many tubes 1 with one another in series is formed in each of covering members 3, 4. A fluid inlet part 3A connected to one of a pair of ends of a single return flow passage W formed by communicatively connecting many pipelines 1A with one another in series is formed on the IN-side covering member 3.
