PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-up display device, wherein the polarizing member has less probability of being damaged by heat of sunlight. SOLUTION: The head-up display device displays a virtual image V by display light L emitted from a liquid crystal device 15 including a liquid crystal cell 23 and a light emitting element 20 for transmissively illuminating the liquid crystal cell 23 from behind. A transreflective member 26 which allows the display light L to pass through and reflects infrared light and a polarizing member 27 stuck to a rear face of the transreflective member 26 are provided in the front side of the liquid crystal cell 23. The transreflective member 27 and the polarizing member 27 are disposed in a state of being not parallel with the liquid crystal cell 23. A holding member 21 is made of a thermally conductive material and holds the transreflective member 27 and the polarizing member 27. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
