PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platen having a structure that promptly ejects ink left on an ink receiving surface of the platen in an ink jet type recording apparatus. SOLUTION: When recording on a recorded material by a recording head 21 having a plurality of nozzle trains discharging ink toward the recorded material, a platen 1 specifies a position of a recorded material to the recording head by supporting the recorded material from a bottom. The platen 1 comprises a through-hole 6 penetrating the inside and outside of the platen in order to eject ink left over the end portion of the recorded material to the backside downward from an ink receiving surface 4 of the platen; and one or a plurality of ink guidepaths (a groove 7 and a V-shape groove 9) for collecting the left ink into the through-hole 6 and urging the unloading.
