PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent and small antenna which can be built in equipment such as mobile communication equipment, and which can receive radio in a UHF television band of comparatively long wavelength. SOLUTION: The small antenna is composed of a radiation conductor and a ground conductor resonating in a resonance point frequency; a power feeding point for feeding power to the radiation conductor; a wavelength shortening means where a magnetic body having both of dielectric property and magnetic property is arranged adjacently to the radiation conductor to move the resonance point frequency to a band lower than a desired frequency band, by an effect of shortening of the wavelength obtained based on the dielectric property and the magnetic property; and a magnetic field application means which applies a magnetic field to the magnetic body to reduce magnetic loss.
