The fodder spreader is mounted on a trailer and comprises a bale separator (4) and a splitter (5). The separator consists of a horizontal toothed roller made up of vertical disks (7) connected by serrated blades (8). The splitter consists of curved blades (9) mounted on a horizontal shaft whose ends fit into slots (11) in the uprights of the machine frame and can be raised and lowered hydraulically. The tips of the blades fit between the roller disks.
