A network system for allocating IPv6(Internet Protocol version 6) addresses and a method therefor are provided to hierarchically allocate the IPv6 addresses by a service system, thereby simply and quickly offering distribution and maintenance services to a home network service provider, a manager, or an Internet service provider. A home gateway(200) functions as a router, and hierarchically registers particular addresses in an address table for storing the particular addresses, on the basis of profiles of a terminal. An address management/home gateway management server(300) conducts address management and home gateway management, includes a subnet ID allocation table which hierarchically allocates subnet IDs in accordance with collective particular address allocation systems, and transmits the subnet ID allocation table to the home gateway(200).
