PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of surely preventing the leakage of toner even at a boundary part between the side surface sealing member and the circumferential surface sealing member of a developing roller, and an image forming apparatus equipped therewith. SOLUTION: A belt-like sheet body 37 is stuck to the level difference part 36 of a body frame 30, and the upper end on the side of a long side of the belt-like sheet body 37 abuts on the developing roller to prevent the toner from being leaked from the side of a supply roller 32. The side surface sealing member 41 is provided at the journaling part of the developing roller, and an auxiliary sealing member 38 is disposed in tight-contact with the side surface sealing member 41. The auxiliary sealing member 38 is arranged to be opposed to a gap (g) between the end on the side of a short side of the belt-like sheet body 37 and the side surface sealing member 41, and its base is stuck and fixed at such a position that it bites at the side of the side surface sealing member 41 by a double coated adhesive tape 38d.
