ANONYMOUS AND RETROACTIVELY UNTRACEABLE AUTHENTICATION OF AN ELECTRONIC OBJECT BY AN AUTHENTICATION ENTITY

An authentication entity such as a server (SA) generates a random variable and transmits it to an electronic object such as an electronic label (E). In order to prohibit an anonymous and retroactively traceable authentication of the electronic object, the electronic object (E) encrypts a predetermined number (N1_d) using a first one-way function (f), determines a cryptogram (X) from the identifier (IS), from the first encrypted number and from the random variable (R), and transmits the cryptogram to the authentication entity. The authentication entity (SA) decrypts the transmitted cryptogram by applying a decryption function (h, ?) to the cryptogram and to the generated random variable in order to produce a decrypted identifier and searches a database (BD) for an identifier equal to this decrypted identifier.
