An optical pickup, an information processing apparatus, and an signal processing method are provided to detect a track error signal and a focus error signal by small and simple composition. An optical pickup has the first photo detector(109) for detecting a returning beam from an optical disc(106). The first photo detector(109) is divided into 3 parts in an emission direction corresponding to a radius direction of the optical disc(106). Light receiving elements of both end parts of the emission direction are divided into 3 parts within a track direction vertical to the emission direction. The first photo detector(109) has 7 light receiving elements including the one light receiving element of a central part of the emission direction and the 6 light receiving elements of the both ends parts of the emission direction. The first photo detector(109) outputs a light receiving element signal as a track error signal generating signal on the basis of the reception of the returning beam.
