PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp lighting device resistant to radiation noise from the outside and easily miniaturizable. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp lighting device includes: a DC-DC converter circuit 1 for inputting DC power therein and for converting a voltage thereof to output it; an inverter circuit 2 for converting the DC power output by the DC-DC converter circuit 1 to AC power to supply it to a discharge lamp La; and a control circuit 5 for controlling the DC-DC converter circuit 1, based on a lamp current and a lamp voltage. When variation of the power voltage is within a predetermined range and variation of the lamp current is out of a predetermined range, the control circuit 5 determines that the detection value of the lamp current is influenced by electromagnetic noise and does not use the lamp current and the lamp voltage for the control.
