PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely detect a defect including dropout of a label in a label tape test device. SOLUTION: The label tape test device comprises the first and second driving rollers for reeling out a label tape made by plastering many labels with a constant pitch on a strip shaped base sheet, the first and second line sensors 26 and 28 for acquiring an image of a predetermined test area of the label tape, and an image controller for deciding the presence of a defect of each label plastered on the test area by comparing with a pre-registered reference image, and controls timing for acquiring the image of the test area at the upstream of the label by the first and second line sensors 26 and 28 based on a trigger sensor disposed at the downstream of the direction of transferring the label tape from the first and second line sensors 26 and 28 for detecting the arrival of the labels on the label tape and the arrival timing of the label detected by the trigger sensor 30.
