<p>The device has a light unit (3) to illuminate the coverage area (2) of a truck, and a camera (4) to supply three-dimensional pictures of the area. The camera has receivers to supply output signals to an evaluator. For each receiver, a distance value is calculated from the period between emission of light beams (6) and their reflection by the coverage area. The evaluator controls an output for the truck, so that this is put in motion only if there is no object within the coverage area. The camera has a CCD or CMOS chip (8) with receivers in square or rectangular formation. The light unit has a light beam transmitter (5), e.g. a diode or Laser diode.</p> |
