PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building external wall, wherein a vacuum heat insulating material having an excellent thermal insulation performance as a heat insulating material is used, capable of improving thermal insulation performance while preventing the building external wall from getting thicker, and also capable of reducing a decrease in the thermal insulation performance of the vacuum heat insulating material due to a breakage of a packing material. SOLUTION: A vacuum heat insulation material 5 is provided as a thermal insulating material to be arranged in the building external wall 1 having an external finishing material 3 and an interior finishing material 4. The vacuum heat insulation material 5 includes a packing material 10 with gas barrier performance having a metal layer 15 reflecting a radiant heat on one side or both sides of the outermost layer and a core material 9 sealed in vacuum within the packing material 10. The vacuum heat insulation material 5 is a sheet-like shaped in such a way that many vacuum heat insulation parts 16 are arranged in parallel while many vacuum heat insulation parts 16 are connected successively at sealing parts 17. The vacuum heat insulation material 5 is firmly fixed to the external wall constituting material composing the building external wall 1.
