摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the variation of output from an engine by a low fuel-pressure control to lower a fuel pressure. <P>SOLUTION: An engine ECU performs a program including a step (S320) setting a fuel pressure upper limit guard value by performing the low fuel pressure control when those requirements for executing the low fuel-pressure control including such a requirement that the execution of the low fuel-pressure control is permitted, a requirement that the rotational speed NE of an engine is lower than a threshold, and the atmospheric pressure is higher than the threshold are established (YES in S310) and a step (S330) controlling the fuel pressure so that the fuel pressure reaches a target fuel pressure within a range not exceeding the upper limit guard value.
