502,922. Pulverized - fuel engines. HANNOVERSCHE MASCHINENBAU AKT.- GES. VORM. G. EGESTORFF (HANOMAG). Nov. 30, 1937, No. 33027. Convention date, Feb. 18. [Class 7 (ii)] Pulverized fuel and air are supplied separately to and rnixed in a chamber 6, and part of the air is discharged from the chamber to flow past an injector nozzle 2 to carry the mixture in the chamber to the engine. As shown, a pump 12 supplier air through a pipe 10 containing a filter to the chamber, into the upper part of which pulverized fuel is fed by a worm or blown by compressed air. A filter 7 removes pulverized fuel, from that part of the air which passes through pipes 9, 17 to a pipe 16 surrounding the nozzle 2. To prevent dogging of the filter 7, valves 11, 15 are periodically rotated to permit air from the pump 12 to be supplied through the pipe 9 and to permit part of the air in the chamber to pass to the pipe 16 through the pipe 10.
