PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform camera shake correction while improving resolution, feeling of resolving and the like using pixels of a solid-state imaging device in an imaging apparatus as many as possible. SOLUTION: An image signal reading means 1e reads an image signal in a rectangular effective region segmented from an image picked up by the solid-state imaging device 1a. An effective region setting means 1d sets an effective region to the image signal reading means 1e so that pixel signals of all pixels of the solid-state imaging device 1a are read out vertically or horizontally to the effective region and that there are excessive pixels in the other direction. A camera shake detecting means 1b detects camera shake of the imaging apparatus 1. The camera shake correction control means 1c displaces, in the direction, the effective region set to the image signal reading means 1e so as to correct the camera shake in the other direction detected by the camera shake detecting means 1b.
