PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up data exchange between a personal computer incorporated type PLC 2 and a personal computer 1 without variance. SOLUTION: In the computer incorporated type programmable controller, the size 24 of input data to be sent to the PLC and the size 25 of output data to be received from the PLC are previously set in a dual-port memory M1 that the personal computer can access for the PLC and are reported to the PLC. Then the computer incorporated type programmable controller writes input data of the size 24 to an input area of the memory M1 and reads output data of the size 25 out of an output area of the memory MI1 at need. Further, a PLC internal memory M2 stored with data that the PLC exchanges with controlled equipment includes an input area and an output area for storing the input data and output data respectively to allow the PLC to perform control processing while reading and writing the memory M2 in every sequence control cycle Ts. In copy cycles Tc shorter than cycles Ts, a copying process 42 of firmware always copies the data in the input area of the memory M1 to the input area of the memory M2 and the data in the output area of the memory M2 to the output area of the memory M1.
