An apparatus and a method for controlling a wireless image display device are provided to supply an OSD(On Screen Display) menu to a user for reporting whether a DPM(Display Power Management) mode of a transmission unit is started and enable the user to select the DPM mode by referring to the OSD menu. A transmission unit(300) wirelessly transmits an image signal. A remote controller(100) inputs a request instruction of a user. A reception unit(200) displays whether to control an operation state of the transmission unit at the same time to the user in response to the request instruction inputted through the remote controller. The reception unit transmits a corresponding instruction to the transmission unit according to whether the operation state of the transmission unit is simultaneously controlled.
