An information processing device and a method for dragging an object in the same are provided to extend a drag-and-drop function without lowering operability of the drag-and-drop function, exchange the drag object by a pause operation during drag, and continuously realize a dragging operation by repeating the pause operation in case that the drag-and-drop function are repeated. A dragger switches over to a drag state for moving the first object on the screen by dragging the first object displayed on a screen. A drag object determiner(28) determines whether moving of the first object is stopped for a predetermined time during the drag. An object executor executes a process for the first object if the drag object determiner determines that the moving of the first object is stopped for the predetermined time. A drag object indictor(27) indicates the drag of the second object. The object executor executes one of the processes for deleting, moving or copying the object to a pointed position, and starting the process corresponding to the icon of the stopped position.
