<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of not producing a white or black stripe at an overlapped portion in an image recorder for recording an image by using a plurality of printing element arrays of which the parts are overlapped with each other. <P>SOLUTION: In this image recorder, the plurality of printing element arrays are arranged such that one end of one of the plurality of printing element arrays is overlapped with one end of the other printing element array in a sub-scanning direction. In order to control a main light emitting element and a sub-light emitting element assigned in each of printing element arrays depending on an amount of positional deviation in the overlapped arrangement, a main light emitting element control section 122 generates a main light emission control signal for controlling an energy amount to be supplied to the main light emitting element according to main light emission control information.
