PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless LAN apparatus capable of carrying out smooth communication control without degrading the throughput. SOLUTION: A frequency of transmission incidence calculation means 14 starts its processing in a prescribed timing, calculates a frequency of an object apparatus in response to a ratio of the number of individual data frames of the object apparatus within a reference time to the total number of data frames at that time on the basis of data frames restored by a frame analysis means 12, and informs a CW determining means 15 about the frequency. The a CW determining means 15 determines the number of CWs (contention windows) on the basis of the frequency calculated for the object apparatus and informs a communication control means 16.
