The device for the distributed application of soft elastic plastic elements in cube, disk, chip or similar form on the surface of a water, for absorbing the liquid contaminants like oils, liquid plastics or similar substances floating on the water surface, comprises a rotary propelable screw conveyor arranged in cylindrical conveyor housing, and a conical funnel. The screw conveyor transports the plastic elements into a compression element (27), from which the compressed plastic elements are removable by conveying water. The device for the distributed application of soft elastic plastic elements in cube, disk, chip or similar form on the surface of a water, for absorbing the liquid contaminants like oils, liquid plastics or similar substances floating on the water surface, comprises a rotary propelable screw conveyor arranged in cylindrical conveyor housing, and a conical funnel. The screw conveyor transports the plastic elements into a compression element (27), from which the compressed plastic elements are removable by conveying water. The conical funnel as the compression element is arranged at an axial exit of the conveyor. The funnel is at its side turned away from the screw conveyor provided with an exit opening running along its lateral surface. The exit opening flows into an entrance opening of a connection pipe (29) lying more or less tangentially to the lateral surface of the funnel. The longitudinal axis of the funnel and the connection pipe run at the same level and include a pointed angle between them. The connection pipe is equipped with a flange (33, 34) at both of its ends for coupling of a fire hose. The cylindrical conveyor housing is provided with an axially running slot hole in the housing coat. A funnel inlet is arranged above the slot hole and forms the lower part of a supply tank (16). The supply tank is provided with a tiltable cover (21) for loading. The tiltable cover is partly cylindrically curved and is tiltable within the supply tank around a horizontal axis at the supply tank. The tiltable cover covers the opening of the supply tank in both of the stable positions.
