<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure gas utilization rate when a gas is supplied to a catalyst electrode layer through a porous layer consisting of a plurality of layers installed on the catalyst electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell is provided with an electrolyte membrane 20, catalyst electrode layers 22, 24 formed on its both sides, first gas diffusion layers 26, 28 which are laminated on the outside of the catalyst layers and are made of a conductive porous member, second gas diffusion layers 14, 15 which are formed of a conductive porous member, laminated on the outside of the first gas diffusion layers, and have a smaller area of lamination face than the catalyst electrode layer and the first gas diffusion layer, and of which the whole outer circumference is arranged so as to overlap the faces of the catalyst electrode layers and the first gas diffusion layers, and a gas supply part to supply gas to the second gas diffusion layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
